Arlington National Cemetery
November11
Arlington National Cemetery is the only cemetery in the United States to hold servicemen and women from every war in U.S. history. This picture shows just a small picture of the entire cemetery. It displays roughly 0.03% of the people buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Using what you can see in this picture, about how many people total are buried at this historic site? Be sure to explain how you found your answer.
i think about 3,000,000 soldiers were buried at the Arlington National Cemetery.
about 1,400,000 because i saw 17 stones in one line and there are 7 rows so i multiplyed that and added a couple of zeros because there are a couple more rows and i added i added 3 stones to extend the number of stones i saw
About 3,0000 million people.
300,000people have died ☺☻♥
more than 300000 people are buried in the cemetery
300,000 people have Ben buried ☺♥☻
there 320,000 people that was buried at arlington national cemetery.and i counted 96 and % it by 0.03
ther where approxament about over a 100 people burned in this cemitary
300,000annaliese h
200
there is about 110 tomb stones and that is only about %0.03 so then i did 0.03 in to 3 so the n110 turned in to 11,000 and so the 11,000 tomb stones are in 3% of the grave yard so then i did 11000 times 33 because 33 x 3= 99 so about 363,000 tomb stones are in the grave yard
does this sound correct Mrs. Ellison.
Good job Tristan. 🙂

ok so I counted the head stones and there are a little over 100 tombstones. if 100 tombstones is only 0.03% of the total people buried then you multiply them which is a little over 300,000 tombstones:)
33,000 people because if i am correct you multiply 0.03% times the number of tomb stones in each row which would round out to about 33,000 people
I think that there might be a total of 3.45 to about roughly 4.00. I multiplied my answer of the total grave markers in the picture to 0.03 and got 3.45.
about 300,000 people are buried in the Arlington National Cemetery
i know because there are about 90 graves in the image to find what 0.03% of 100 equals you make it 0.0003 and so i divided 90 by 0.0003 and got 300,000
i think since thats only 0.03% of the land in arlington national cemetary and that inly a part of it then it must be tripple the size because its the third of the land.it looks at least thirty stone plaques are in a row so thirty times how ever many rows of burials are there must be a lot 🙂
How much is a lot?
I got 119 by counting all that was in the picture.
I couldn’t figure out this problem because there is not enough information for me. 🙁
We went over how to solve the problem in class. Please try again.
second try. 153*.97= 148.41*153= 22707
well it is 51,0000 because i times10,000 with 51 and thats how i got the answer.
You have to multiply the decimal by 100 so 0.03%(100)=300,000
916 because i multiplied
I got 233.33 because i counted 70 tomb stones and got 70 over x and 0.03 over 100 i cross multiplied and got 7,000 and 0.03x then i divided 7,000 by 0.03 and got 233.33 repeating so i rounded it to 233.33.
o.o3%
So I counted the graves, 105. i did cross multiply (is/of=%/100) and got 350000. 350000 graves. now thats alot of souls tooken away.
about 4,000
There is 290,000 because x equals 290,000. So what I did was I did is over of and percent over onehundred. Then I multiplied 87 &100 then I did x times0.03 which all together gave me 8700 and 0.03x then divided it by 0.03 and got x = 290,000.
there are 112 tombstones in the picture.
There are 112 tombstoens in the picture i think there are 12,880
i think that there is atleast 31000 tombstones

change my answer of course and if I multiply 38 times how long its been since the revolutionary war ended and multiply that times one hundred I get 881,600.
So, first you divide 100 by 0.03, then multiply the answer (3,333) by 108 (my estimate of the number of graves in the picture) which equals 359,964. That’s a lot of graves!
I got x=186667 because first I counted all the tombstones which was 59. Second I put 59 over x. then I put the percent of people that was buried there which was 0.03% over 100. Next I crossed multiplied and I got 5900=.03x. last I did 5900 divided by .03x which equaled 186666.6 repeated so I rounded up and that’s how I got x=186,666 tombstones.
So Mrs.Ellison, I counted 72 headstones in the picture. If that is roughly 0.03% of the graveyard, then I shall move the decimal of the (%) (0.03 to 3) then I will do the same to the number of headstones in the opposite direction (72 to 7,200). So that means 3% is 7,200, what if I was to find out what 100% is? I would get the answer! So first I would try to find what ten is. So I will try to add until I get to 10%. First, I add 7% to 3%, then I add 7200 to itself seven times, and I get 50,400. then I add 90%. I get 4,536,000 when I add 50,400 to itself 90 times. The answer is there are 4,536,000 dead veterans. God Rest Their Souls
Sincerely
Loren T. Elder
333,333.0 is about of of many tomb stones there are in the grave yard. because i did 100 x 100= 10,000 then divided that by 0.03 and got 333,333.333 but you cant have a piece of a tomb stone so i rounded.

i got 4.266 and i got my answer by counting 128 grave stones and put it under an X because i didnt know what went under it and = to 0.03 over 100 and did the the proportion and got 0.03x = 12800 and divided it but before that i moved the decimal to the right and got 3 divided by 12.800 and thats how i got 4.266 never ending
90/0.03 %=300,000
I counted the grave stones which totaled 90 and then divided that by 0.03% and came out to 300,000
The answer is 370,000. I got the answer by first counting the tumb stones. Then by setting up a proportion, 111/x =0.03%/100. Next I soled it like a proportion and I got 370,000 as my answer.

my answer sounds very wrong:[ but I keep trying to do it differently anyway my answer is 282.
this is an answer that sounds more reasonable and here 9,682. I found this answer by multiplying 94 by 0.03 and then added it then multiplied it I don’t know if its right though.
I believe that there is 12100 people because I guess that there is 110 in each row so that is how I got the answer
9700,I got my answer by solving the equation for this question.
You would figure it out by doing .03 x _ =100.
Doing 100 divided by .03 your answer would be 3,333 people.
I counted 110 people buried and multiplied it by0.03% and times it by 100 and got 330, 000 people buried in all
Hello Ms. Ellison, I counted 93 headstones, and put that over x (the total number of headstones) then put the percent of tombstones (.03% in the picture) over one hundred. After that I crossed-canceled with the ”hearts”, and that was 9,300=3x, so I had to figure out what x was, so I had to divide 9,300 by 3 and it equaled 3,100. There are 3,100 headstones at Arlington National Cemetery.
About 270,000 because i counted about 70 in the pic so i added the 0s and i
Solution ^.^
The First row has 8
The Second Row Has +11
The Third Row Has +13
The Fourth Row Has 14
The Fifth row Has 16
The Sixth Row Has 17
The Seventh Row Has 19
The Eighth Row Has 12

= 110 Graves
you would start with 93 is .03% of something in order to get your answer you would have dived them and you cant do that if 93 isn’t a decimal so you have to move that many spaces to the right so its 93.00 dived by .03 than when you do that its really .0003 dived 93.0000 and without the decimal it would be 3 divided by 930,000 is 310,000.

3033 is %

there are over 3,000 people were barred but to be specific there is 3,200 people. by dividing 96 witch I counted then I divided 0.03 and then I got 3,200. 🙂
about 310 thousand total in the whole cemetary
3,000 million
there is about 110 tomb stones and that is only about %0.03 so then i did 0.03 in to 3 so the n110 turned in to 11,000 and so the 11,000 tomb stones are in 3% of the grave yard so then i did 11000 times 33 because 33 x 3= 99 so about 363,000 tomb stones are in the grave yard
I saw 110 gravestones you multiply it by 100.your answer will be 11,000 than you multiply that by 0.03 an you will get 330,000 as your answer
i counted the tombstones and figured out that there are about 300,000 tombstones in the cemetery and i figured it out by doing the is over of problem
sorry its late but is it around 3,500,000?
There is about 110 tomb stones and that is only 0.03%. So I turned 0.03 to 3 so 110 turned in to 11,000.11,000 tomb stones are in 3% of the grave yard, so I did 11000 x 33, because 33 x 3= 99. So maybe around 363,000 tomb stones are in the grave yard.
around 3000000 =3
Their Are About 363,000 tomb stones In The Grave yard.
there are about 17 stones so i multiplied 17 by 7 rows and got over 300,000
360,000 because if 1/3 is about 110 so i multiplied 0.03% into 33 and then added some zeros and i came up with 11,000 times 33 and i got 360,000. :] sorry for the delay. 😉
i think there are about 1,000 or over because the picture only shows 0.03 percent of the photo so i think you have to multiply some thing but i am not sure so i am i kinda dont know sorr
There was 109 graves. Sop you divide 109 by .o3 to get 3633 and then multiply it by 97.97 [I got 97.97 by subtracting 100 percent by .03] My answer is 355,925 total graves. Sorry for being late.
77 tomb stones because there was 7 rows with 11 tomb stones
unless i miss calculated
nathan.e
i think 300,000 soldiers
363,000 tomb stones are in the grave yard.
3000 accroding to the picture but in real life 300,000
I forgot to explain… sorry
about 300,000
I saw around 90 graves on the picture. To find .03% of 100 equals you put it as 0.0003 then divide 90 and 0.0003=300,000
About 3,000,000 people are buried there
400,000
300,000 grave stones
I’d say about 80,000 people buried.
im guessing 30000
about 310,000 tombstones
about 400,000 tombstones
I got 300,000 by using proportions
Oh no! Who does this belong to?
300,000 people died.

I think its a 118 grave stones
Oh no! Who does this belong to?
I multiplied 110 by 100 that got me 11,000 then I multiplied that by 0.03 and got 330,000
i think there is 153 stones on there
There is about 153 stones
There are more than 30,000 tombstones at the grade yard by 0.03
More than 300,000 tomb stones.
about 300,000 people are burried here
About 300,0000 soldiers were buried at arlington national cemetary.
Oh no! Who does this belong to?
About 300,000 soldiers were buried there
330, 000 people are buried in
Arlington National Cemetery
about 300,000 tombstones because you estimate 0.03
about 26400 tombstones
300,000 people
almost 300,ooo people are burried at arlington cemetary bacause you have to round up or estimate 0.03
