Goodbye Jonas and The Giver

March28

We have finished The Giver and discovered that it ended without giving us the warm, fuzzy feeling we were looking for.  What has happened to Jonas?  Is Gabriel ok?  Did “the community” survive the memories?  Oh the questions!  Use the Wallwisher to share what you believe happened to the characters of the book.

The Giver Wallwisher #3

March12

Jonas has begun to receive memories from The Giver.  These memories are exciting to Jonas since his memories are very limited because of the “sameness” his community lives under.  Lets keep track of the memories Jonas discovers through his special training. It would also be great to record his feelings as he discovers each of the memories too.  Happy Wallwishing! 🙂

The Giver Wallwisher #2

Wow!  We are getting deep into The Giver!  We have begun to learn about the community Jonas lives in. His community has heaps of rules.  Let’s make a list of the rules on our wall to help us keep track.

This week we will begin reading The Giver.  We will be doing quite a bit of work around the themes in the book and how we connect to the the book.  Take some time to visit this Wallwisher wall and post your thoughts about the opening sentence of the book.  Remember, your comments need to be relevant to the topic of the wall in order to be published.

Hello Room 2!  We have a new way to think about what we learn in class and share the information we are learning.  Wallwisher works like a posting board.  To post to our Wallwisher walls click on the red tab at the bottom of the picture that says, “At the top of the page there will be a question or idea for you to answer/think about.  You can post your ideas to the wall by double clicking on the wall and typing in your relevant thoughts.  Your thoughts can be in the form of words or pictures.  You do not need to register to post to our wall, just double click and you’re on your way!  I am looking forward to making use of this wonderful site with you! 🙂
