Room 2 has been learning about how to format dialogue in a story. We watched the video, Death Buy Lemonade and then wrote our story from the point of view of one of the characters in the video. We hope you enjoy our writing. 🙂

I was asleep and I saw a thirsty dude come out of nowhere.

I was watching go to a little girl for a drink.

She said ” NO!” She saw him die right in front of her.

I came down looking for the body and I didn’t know

I landed on him. I was about to take the thirsty

mans body . When the little girl pulled

my coat and said ,” Hey you, buy a cup

of lemonade”.She wouldn’t go away

so I said “DIE” and I clapped

and she died. I went and took the body.

Poof I was gone.

It was the day before yesterday when I thought I would drive out to a corn field to pick some corn.

I didn’t really want to go alone so I called my mum and asked her if she would like to go with me to pick some corn.  She said ” Your old enough to go by yourself, but no because Im busy!”

So there I was driving to the corn field.  When I got there I got out and locked the car, then off I went to pick corn.  The dumb thing was that I didn’t bring a sack or a bag to put the corn in.

I was already  in the corn field and i panicked because I was lost.

I was so thirsty the only way i could get around was lying on my stomache and pulling myself with my arms.

Finally O saw the road in that distanceI saw a lemonade stand.

There it was this little girl selling lemonade. I reached out to grab a glass and she pulled the glasses filled with lemonade back. She stared to point at the 10 cents sign.

Here I was thinking to myself , ” Here I am dying from thirst and I dont’t have any money. Just give me one glass it’s only 10 cents……….,.

DEAD!!!

      The Devil said “Someone has died Death I’ll let you go down as long as you don’t talk to that Peter Griffen ok?”So down Death went.

      Death thought “Where is he? ” as he scratched his head. When he looked under him, he saw that he was standing on him.

       “How dumb am I” , thought Death. So he lifted him up and there was a lemonade stand behind him and he fell on tipping all the drinks over. The girl was furious she stormed up to him and pulled his black cloak and pointed at the 10c sign.

Death thought “What”, then she held up five fingers.

She said “Dude you owe me 50c”, and Death didn’t understand English.

One hot sunny day I was sitting in a corn field selling lemonade at my lemonade stand. While I was waiting for someone to come I was reading the news paper.

All of a sudden I heard a weird noise,”chh chh.” It came again.

“chh chh chh chh.”

I pulled my news paper away from my face and there right in front of me was a man puling himself across the ground.When he looked and saw that I was looking at him he said,”please give me a glass of lemonade I’m dyeing.”

“No.” I said.

Then all of a sudden he died. The sky went black and a man came down. His name was Death. Death started to look for the man but he could not find him. He finally noticed that he was standing on the dead man. He picked him up and fell backwards . He knocked my lemonade stand. I was so ANGRY. I got up and went and grabbed his coat.

He said, “Let go!”

I said,”No! I want uhh oh yeah 50 cents.”

Death said, “No.”

He hit me and I died.

I was dead forever.

My name is death and this is what happened.One cloudy day  I was looking for a fresh dead body. What I didn’t know was that  I was on top of a dead guy. I got off him and lifted him up, but he was so fat he must weighed a ton. I said, “Holy blazers! He is heavy.” I kind of tripped back, but bumped into something.Thank goodness. I was just about to take off until something caught my cloak. It was a girl. She looked angry she pointed at the lemonade stand. I scratched my head,thinking, “What the h.e.l.l!” I thought, “She was giving a high five.” I gave her a high five. Now I have two dead fresh bodies what a lucky day.

THE END OR IS IT?

I was sitting at my lemonade stand   minding my own business  waiting  for  a customer to try my lemonade my mum made  yesterday when suddenly, scratch! scratch!  Something was coming through the bushes . It was a man. A very old , thirsty man trying to get my lemonade. Well trying  but  i didn’t care how old or thirsty he was. He could clearly see in big letters there was  10c  written below lemonade .

” Thirsty i am thirsty, ” said the old man. Next minute , splat! He was on the ground like  completely still on the ground. He was dead. Just then a whole dramatic thing  happened. A freakish guy was standing on the dead guy.

“Oh, ” said the grim reaper picking up the dead guy.

He spilt my lemonade. I tugged his cote and said you owe me 50c. Then he killed me.

I was sitting by my lemonade stand minding my own business waiting for someone to by my fresh homemade lemonade. Suddenly I heard a noise, “Eak eak.” Then out of nowhere came an old man who was dieing of thirstiness. When he tried to grab a glass of lemonade I  moved it back a little. The next minute POOF he was dead. After that a grimm reaper  came down from heavean , picked up the guy and knocked over my lemonade. So I got up and tugged on the grimm reapers suit. I got fisty with him and said, “you need to pay me 50 cents.”

He replied,”NO !”

I held my hand up and he high fived me and I died. 🙂

One sunny day I made a lemonade stand then out of the wheat farm a man came crawling to the stand for lemonade.

The thirsty old man cried for lemonade, ” LEMONADE “

I said , ”  NO you have to pay 10 cents for a glass ” I tapped on the 10 cent board.

The old man paused and stared , then suddenly died of de-hydration.

BOOM! CRASH! THUD!

Death came to collect the man 

Death walked straight into my lemonade!

” HEY MISTER ” I yelled .

“what? ” Death asked .

” YOU KNOCKED MY LEMONADE ” I screamed .

” SO….” he shrugged .

” so you pay me pack ” I said .

I put my hand out for my money SLAP! he gave me a high five and I died.

The last thing I said was , ” I just wanted to go to the dairy “

I was sitting in my lounge watching T.V.

Suddenly I sense a death. So I go down to earth and I say, ” Hey, Where’s the dead guy? … oh he’s right under me.”

So I, Death picked him up and I carried him on my shoulder and bumped into this little girl’s lemonade stand knocking over all the lemonade by accident.

The girl got angry. I was about to go back to the death place, but the girl held me back.

”Hey, Whats tthe big idea?” I said.

”You knocked, lets see, one,two,three,four, FIVE glasses of lemonade so you have to pay for ALL of them!” She said that too fast so I didn’t know what she said and she held her hand up. I think she wanted a high five. I high five her.

”Oops, she’s dead.” I say. ”Oh man! Now I have to carry TWO people now Dang it”

The End

Room 2 has been learning about ghost stories in preparation for our Year 6 camp.  We have watched One Winter’s Night and Alma and talked about the narrative framework needed to write a good ghost story. Enjoy the videos and then hunker down to be frightened by our stories.  

One dark night when George was watching t.v he heard a scratch at his door.

He said to himself it’s probably nothing then he heard it again.

He went to his door and there was only his friend Bob.

Bob said, ” Hello George,” in a deep voice and when George

was about to say come in Bob told George that

werewolves are real.George didn’t  believe Bob so

Bob said, “so you don’t believe me , I’ll make you believe me,

Bob changed into a werewolf and said,” You believe me now”?

George said, ” How did  you turn into a werewolf”?

Bob said ,” I don’t know, someone bit me.”

Don’t bite me !” said George . Bob said,” I have to

im hungry!” Bob bit George and George turned into

a werewolf.George found the guy who first turned into a

werewolf.He was the biggest werewolf.

He told George how he became a werewolf.

There once was a girl named Tayla jones she has big eyes and a mole on the very  end of her nose. She was ten years old and always wore skinny jeans.  One night she heard a big thump coming from down stairs in the basement. She got up carrying her book and flash light. Nothing was there. As she was walking up stairs, there was a zombie following her. It was her best friend Bailey. He hid under the floor boards and tapped all night. She wanted to know what was happening  and what was making the noise. But Bailey wanted to eat the girl instead of warning her. Bailey keep noticing stuff  from when he was a human. Then suddenly Bailey the zombie bit a tiny bit of taylas cheek.

4 th november , Sovano Switzerland

Once upon a time there was two sisters named June & Ruby . They lived in Sovano but thy weren’t just two ordinary sisters ;

they were witches . Nobody else knew their secret except them . One night , June and Ruby were scrambling through

the bushes finding ingredients for their potions . At the time the town detective happened to walk past . He was a little creeped out

seeing two weird old ladies trying to catch frogs .  The  next week the town priest saw the two  witches buying chicken feet. People

had seen the witches doind all  sorts of crazy stuff and got very suspicious .  For example every time the priest walked

past their little cottage light would  be shining and it would smell like wet frogs . All of the stuff the towns people saw was making

them very suspicious > soon all the towns people had figured out their secret.  . One night  3 of the  towns people crept up into the

sisters house and silently crept into their room . When they woke up they were tied to a pole and set on fire . Now every night they

haunt switzerland and the rest of the world. So if you smell wet frog be sure to run.

One find day  bobmarley was  running  down town  and a booger monster  that was chasing  bobmarley .

the booger monster  just  about  turnepa    bobmarley  in  to a booger monster  .

bobmarley is  very  faster  then  anything.

He is very hard to catch.

Bob Marley can blend in with anything so he’s hard to find.

So Bob Marley got trapped behind a booger wall.

Only the booger monster can get through the booger wall.

Bob Marley uses a granade to blow up the booger. 🙂

There was a six year old called Bailey that carries a barbie doll and shes at her friend Alie’s party. She gets shown around the house by Alie while waiting for the other guests to arrive. The guests have arrived and they are ready to play a game. They play hide and go seek. Alie is it , Gracie hides in an empty cupboard , Jessica hides in Alie’s room under Alie’s bed , Tayla hides behind the couch , and Bailey hides in a toy box with a lock . Bailey locked herself in the toy box . Meanwhile , Alie has found Gracie in the empty cupboard , Jessica in Alie’s room under Alie’s bed , and Tayla behind the couch . But no sign of Bailey . They had been searching for a hour and a half but still no sign of Bailey . Tayla had this brilliant idea that she could be in the attic . They all go up in the attic at once and search the attic . Alie unlocked the toy box and screams in shock “SHES DEAD!!!” Alie says trembling . So Alie’s Mum calls Bailey’s Mum to break the news . 

A couple of years later Bailey’s ghost haunts Alie’s house and she warns her that there is going to be a fire in three days . Of course Alie  believes her so she packs her bags and went to stay in a hotel for three days . When she came back , her house was burned down . So she stays with her friend Tayla for a couple of days while she try’s to find a new house . She just thinks that she’s lucky that Bailey’s ghost was there . She finds a beautiful house and lives happily ever after . Until she gets hit by a car!!!

hi and welcome to the haunted house of horror.  One stormy night theres was a house in the middle of the woods.  In that house there was a family, a Mum and a little boy.  There was someone else in the house as well.  It was a ghost.  The ghost could float in mid air and the air was very cold.  The ghost was Great Grandad Arthur.  Arthur had come back to the house to warn the mum about the dangers in the dark house and to try and kill the little boy.  He tryed to kill the little boy because the little boy hated Great Grandad Arthur.  When mum saw the floating ghost she screamed as loud as she could.  The little boy came running.  When the little boy came the ghost said to the little boy, ” YUM YUM!  Come here.  When the little boy heard this he yelled,  ” NO ”!  And then said lets get out of here!  The mum said, ” NO, Run! Run   to your room and don’t come out untill I say so.  mum tryed to stop the ghost from following him but she could not stop him because he was so strong.  When the ghost got to the little boys door he kicked it down.  When the mum got to the little boys room she started to throw things at the ghost.  The thing she thew hit him and smashed into little pieces.  Then the ghost had an idea.  He would kill the Mum first.  The ghost found a sharp piece of vase that the mum had thrown and he when up to the mum and shoved the sharp piece of vase into her heart.  When he pulled it out it had bright red blood on it!  This the ghost liked so he done it again, but this time into her head.  She feel to the ground.  The little boy yelled NO!!!  You killed my mum!  You are so mean.  I know so what should I do with you?  Stab you throw you out the window eat you I would like you to go splat!  So out the window!  Ten seconds later the ghost picked up the little boy and throw him out the window!!!  When the little boy was going down the ghost looked out the window at the little boy.  Five seconds later the ghost looked at the little boy and he went splat!!!                 All that was left of the little boy was bones blood skin and clothes.  No one has gone into that house since.  The mum is still inside the house and there are still blood stains on the concrete.  No one dared to go near the stain it was so disgusting!!

This is a story that no one in the town knows the truth about but me.  Let me tell it to you.  Here it goes.  It was 5:00 at night on Halloween.  Its starts with a girl called Paige.  She’s 7 years old she’s, an only child.  She lives with her Dad because her Mum passed away.  Her Dad was very rich so she got what ever she wanted.  Paige had a cat called Shadow it followed her everywhere.  One day she asked her Dad if he could take her on a boat ride and have a picnic but her Dad said no because he was very busy.  She used to go on boat rides with her Dad and have  picnics.  Paige was very angry that her Dad said no.  She was so angry she got in the row bot leaving Shadow behind on shaw.  She was in the middle of the lake when it started to rain and get stormy.  The boat started to rock side to side and Paige got tipped out.  Paige was wearing a heavy dress that made her sink to the bottom of the lake and she drowned.  Shadow try to help her but drowned with her.  Paige’s body was found 3 day later.  Paige’s funeral was a week after her death.  Shadow wasn’t berried with her.  All the people in the town say that Shadow killed her.  Shadow the cat which is now a ghost romes around at night trying to find Paige and wear she was berried!!!

Room 2 used this video to begin our exploration of narrative writing.

We watched this beautiful film in chunks and then used narrative writing to write the story this video portrayed on paper.  We spent time brainstorming each of the parts of the story based on a narrative framework (as seen below). Enjoy our interpretations of this touching film.

Where do I begin ? My name is Indy the butterfly and my journey begins with a girl named clair. I was fluttering along when I saw clair she looked sad so I landed on her finger. I must have tickled her because she laughed. so I continued on my way. So clair made a blue paper butterfly but in bluw away. A crow started to chase me   so I  flew and clairs shadow  chased the crow. After the the crow chased both of us.The crow lost us so I landed on a slide but clair startled me so I flew on to a sea-saw. clair climbed on the other side of the sea saw and it tipped. clair fell and got all dirty. The crow found us but I didnt know so I landed on a fence post. The crow was only three post away from me so clair threw a rock. The noise scared me and the crow. I flew as fast as I could and clair hid behind a tree. She  away got two branches and made a shadow of a monster .when the crow saw it he flew away Clair started to cry I think clair thought the crow ate me “Gross” I  came and landed on her finger  and her shadow disappeared cleir  wock up with a startld  with her blue butterfly in her hand mabey it was a dream. meanwile the ceertacker pushed clair back to the orfenge she opened her hand and I flew out  passed the orfenige a girl had had a blue teddy bear a boy had a blue blancket and a boy with a blue ballon then I flue of into the city.
