    1) false beause, if you add 18, 12, 10, 6, 4,you get 50. but then you divide 10 into 50 and get 5 not 20.

    2) false beause,if you multiply 25 and 3 you get 75 but then you divide 4 into 75 but you do not get 75.

    3) true beause,if you multiply 50 and 3 you get 150 but then multiply6 and 3you will get 18.

    4) true beause, if you divide 25 and 4 you do not get 4 but you can look on the table it wil show that four people are taking earth science.

      1. this is false because 20% of 50 equals 20. I know this because I divided each group & determined the fractions by how many numbers there were, and there were 5 numbers; therefore 50/5=10, and 10 is 10% of 50. Then Chemistry is only 10% of students taking chemistry, not 20%.
      2. True. Because Physics is 6 & 6×2=12 and Health Science is 12.
      3. True. Because out of 50 students, 6 are taking Physics;therefore if 100 students were surveyed, then 12 students would be taking Physics. If Tripled, and 150 students were surveyed, 18 would be taking Physics.
      4. False. Because half of 50 is 25, so now when you divide 50 by 1/2, you then have to divide every number in half. And everybody taking earth Science is 4; so therefore 1/2 of 4 is 2. So the answer is False.

3)the third answer is goint to be true becasue for every student there going to multiply by three and and if you multiply six by 3 you get 18 the answer is true
4)the fourth answer is goint to be false becasue if you multiply by three your only going to get 12 and were trying to get 25 so the the ansawer is going to be false

1)The answer is going to be true because 10 is going to be the answer and ten is a good for the varlble.

3)The answer is going to be true because if you times 6 x 3=18.

4)The answer is going to incorrect because if you times 4 x4= you dont get 24.

1.) Is true becuase 20% of 50 is 10 , first i added up all the students and got 50 , then divided 2.0 into50 and got 10.

2.) Is true becuase there is 12 students in health science and there is 6 kids in physics and 6 x 2 is 12.
3)True because for every 50 kids taking science, 6 kids are taking physics,. 6 x 3=18
    4)false becuase 4 divided by 2 is 2,.

  6. November 10th, 2014 at 4:11 pm      Reply colev2014 Says:

1)True, because if you divide 50 by 10.00 you will get .2o then you need to convert it into a percent.

2)True, because 12 students are taking health science and 6 students are taking physics and if you divde 12 by 6 you get 2 so that is double the amount of physics.

3)True, because say you have 50 students total over 6 physics than you go like this. Example: 50/6 + 50/6 + 50/6 you will get 150/18 like it says above for number 3.

4)False, because the total amount of students is 50 so you would have every 50 students would at least have 4 students that are taking Earth Science or if every 25 students and 4 Earth science students then that would mean that the graph up at the top would be wrong and it would say 8 to every 50 students but it doesn’t so it would be false.

  7. November 10th, 2014 at 6:46 pm      Reply teresam2014 Says:

The answer to number 1. is True because the sum above is 50 so times it by 2 it equals 100 so times 10 it by 2 it equals 20. chemistry is 20%.

The answer to number 2. is True because 12 divided by 2 equals 6. So 12 is twice as many as 6.

The answer to number 3. is True because the sum above is 50. 50 times 3 is 150, so 6 times 3 equals 18. So every 150 students there is 18 students.

The answer to number 4. is False because the sum above is 50 . 50 divided by 2 is 25 , so 4 divided by 2 is 2 . So no, every 25 students there is 2 not 4.

    ABOUT HALF

    3) is true because 50 times 3 and 6 times 3 IS 18

  9. November 10th, 2014 at 8:32 pm      Reply allysonb2014 Says:

    1. False, because the total amount of students are 50 and 20% of 50 is not 10 because only 10 people are taking chemistry.

2.True, because there are 12 people in health science and half of 12 is 6 so then the statement is true.

3.True, because there is a total of 50 students and for there to be 150 you have to times it by 3 so then you times the number of students taking physics is 6 so then multiply 6 by 3 and you.get 18 so then the statement is true.

    4. False, because the total number of students is 50 and there are 4 taking earth science so for 25 students it would be 2 students not 4 so that statement is wrong.

    4. False, there would only be 2 students in Earth Science

  12. November 11th, 2014 at 2:45 pm      Reply jasminm2014 Says:

    1. True
I got my answer by multiplying 2 into 10 and 50. I multiplied 2 into 10 and 50 because 50 had to become 100 and if I muliplied 50 by 2 then I have to do it to the numerator. So when I multiplied my results were 20 over 100. Which would be 20% of the students are taking Chemistry. That’s why I chose true.

    2. True
I picked true because if you multiply 2 into 6 then it would equal 12. You would multiply by 2 because it says “twice as many.” I just had to check if 6Γ—2=12 and it does so that’s why my answer is true.

    3. True
This is true because every 50 students there are 6 taking physics and if you divide 150 by 50 then it would be 3. So you would multiply 6 by 3 and it equals 18. So in every 150 students there is 18 taking physics. That’s how i got my answer.

    4. False
My answer is false because how is it that in every 50 students there are 4 taking earth science? So my prediction is that there will be about 2 students taking earth science in every 25 students. That’s why I chose false.

    3) False because it doesn’t matter how many students in total you have it matters about how many students are REALLY taking the class

    Solution:150/50=3 3×6=18

Solution 50/25=2.You reduce by 2 and you divide 4/2 to get 2 students in Earth Science. It says “at least” that means minimum 4 students.

4.False I think that it would be a bit more because if you split it up as it is right now it would be a bit more than 4.

    1. False- this is false because if you do the math correctly you know that in percentages it means per hundred so since there was 50 students who took the survey you had to divide 100 by 50 and the correct answer is 2% not 20%.

    2. True-this is true because 12 students are taking health science and 6 students are taking physics. So what I did was multiply 6 by 2 because the problem said about twice as many students and the answer was 12.

    3. True- this is true because every 50 students 6 take physics so, the problem wants to know about every 150 students. What i did was divide 150 by 50 which equals 3 because we need to know if 18 students are taking physics then i multiplied 3 by 6 it equaled 18.

4.false-this is false because first of all you need 50 students not 25 and if it were 25 it would be every 2 students because 25 is half of 50.

  62. November 15th, 2014 at 3:10 pm      Reply julianac2014 Says:

    1) The answer is true because 20% of 100 is 20. Since 50 is half of 100, and half of 20 is 10, then 20% of 50 is 10.

2)The answer is true. 12 students are taking health science, and 6 students are taking physics. Half of 12 is 6, so twice as much of 6 is 12.

3)The answer is true. 150 is three times as much as 50. If you multiply the number of students taking physics, then you would get the amount of students that would take physics out of 150 students 6 times 3 is eighteen, so the answer is true.

4)The answer is false. Since you are doing every 25 students, then you divide 50 by 2 to get 25. Then, since there are 4 students taking Earth Science for every 50 students, then you would divide 4 by 2, the product is 2, not 4.

    2) true, because 6 are taking physics and 12 are taking health science so twice as many are taking health science. (6+6=12)
    3) true, because if you do 50*3 you get 150 and if you do 6*3 you get 18. so for every 150 students you could maybe get at least 18 of students. you are taking each number and multiplying it by 3.
    4) false, because if you take 50 divided by 25 you get 2 and if you take 4*2 you get 8. i took 2 because thats how many times 25 goes into 50 and your total is 50 students so out of 25 itd be 2 and so there saying you could get 4 out of that but you really cant because 4*2 is 8.
