You must write a mathematical expression that equals 24. You must use the numbers 3, 3, 8, and 8 exactly once and you may not use any other numbers. You can use any operations (+, -, x, ÷, or ( )) as many times as you need. You are not allowed to paste numbers together (i.e. 3 and 8 ≠ 38).
[(8 X 8) / 3] / 3 = 24.333333333= 24
8*3
3+8+8-3=24
3 X 3 + 8 + 8 = 24
8*3=3*8=24
9 + 16 =24
(3×3)+(8+8)=24
🙂
You can do 8(x) 8. Then divide by 3 and then add 3. That equals 24.
3×3 divided by 8,×8
You can do 8 * 8 = 64 / 3 = 21 + 3 = 24
You can do 8*3-3+3=24
3 +3 time 8
3×8=24
8×3=24
8 multiply 8 equals 64 which u divide into 3 which equals 21 then add the last 3 which equals 24
3(3)+9+9=24
the way i found 24 was (8×8/3)+3.
8/(3-(8/3))
=8/(1/3)
=24
3*8+3-3=24
8 divided by 3 times 8 + 3
8*3=24(3)=32-3=24

I have now idea
Hi Garret. If you are having trouble with this blog assignment you can come in and we can work on it together. 🙂
8×8=64 divided by 3 =21+ 3=24
so me and my dad had tried figuring this out for like 5 hours so I came up with 3×8 =24 8×3=24
8/(3-(8/3))
= 8/(1/3)
= 24
3 divided into 24 is 8 time 3 equals 24.
8/(3-(8/3))= 8/(1/3)= 24
8 divided by (3-(8 divided by 3))
8/3*8+3
First you times 8 times 3 then you subtract 24 minus 3 which equils 21 add 3 that equils 24 minus 8 equils 24 :)!!.
Dear Mrs. Ellison:
I have done your 24 challenge and I have to hand it to you, you chose a hard one. I mean on monday the problem stumped a room full of adults. So, coming back to the point. I got the answer of 24 by using:
8/(3-(8/3))=24
Here’s how.
I used my scientific calculator by trying many different combinations to reach the solution. When I found the answer, I got my parents to help me understand it. (How it eqauls 24). This is how it was explained to me:
8/3 is the same as 2 2/3 or 2.6 repeating.
Then I subtracted it from 3. (3-2.6 repeating=.3 reapeating or 1/3)
then I divided 8 by 1/3.
I used the same change, change you taught me. So I got the equation of 8 over 1 times 3 over 1. Which is the same as 8*3 equalling 24.
From a satisfied student called,
Loren T. Elder
Well done Loren! Thanks for taking the time to explain your thinking. 🙂
the expression is (3×8) = (3×8)
we tried working on this for an hour and this is all we could come up with
8•3=24 and 3•8= 24
8(x)8=64/3=21+3=24
8/(3-(8/3)) = 8/(1/3) = 24
There are three ways to get to 24, but only way to get a whole number 24.
1. (8*8)/3+3=24.333
2. 8/(3-(8/3)=24.24
3.the sq root of (8×8) x sq root of (3×3) = 24
3+3+8+8=24
3×the square root of 3 (8)??
When I checked it on the calculater I did 3×3s.r. then hit the 8 without any +,×,÷. It said 24
You can do 8•8=64 and 64 divided by 3 = 21.1 and I rounded it up to 21. Then I added 21 and 3 which = 24. I did it
8 times 3 is 24 divided by 3 is 8 times by 3 is 24
You can do 8•3=8•3 because the first 8•3=24 but instead of saying it was 24 I put another 8•3
8/(3-(8/3)) = 24
3 x 8 + 3 – 3 = 24
8/(3-8/3)=24. It took me about an hour to solve it. Thank you and have a good day.
Oops! Sorry its 8/(3-(8/3))=24. Thank you and have a good day.
8+3·3-8
8+8+3+3=24
8÷3×8+3
8×8/3+ 3=24
( 8×8=64 /3=21 +3=24 )
3 times 8 +3-3= 24
8•3=24/3=8•3= (24)
🙂
3×8=24+3-3=24
8*3=24
8×3=3×8=24
8×3=3×8=24
8 multiplied by 3 or vice versa 3 multiplied by 8 will both equal 24
By jordyn h 5 period
8×3=3×8=24
4+8+4+8=24
3*3 8+8=24
8×3=3×8 =24
